Meet Murph

Blair "Murph" Murphy, a dedicated business owner and Crimestoppers board member, will be running for Mayor of Columbia in the upcoming April 2025 municipal election.

As a committed member of the Crimestoppers board since 2016, Murph has seen firsthand the challenges facing our community. "The types of crimes being committed in Columbia are alarming," says Murph. "Most residents are unaware of the realities on our streets. I’m eager to bring new leadership and a fresh perspective to tackle these issues head-on."

Murph prioritizes reinvestment in the community that shaped him. His years of service include dedicated involvement with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Daniel Boone Little League, Columbia South Rotary, the Sophie Cunningham Classic, and the Norm Stewart Classic. The Murphy family's passion for affordable homeownership led them to a pilot partnership with Love Columbia and Anderson Homes Foundation. In becoming part of the solution, a single mother and her six children recently moved in to their own home. Driven by a deep and personal understanding of Columbia's needs and a commitment to meaningful change, he is now running for Mayor in the April 2025 municipal election.
